For as long as anybody can remember, there have been four tribes of dragons- Plains Tribe of the grasslands, Desert Tribe of the barren wastes, Ocean Tribe of sea and coast and Forest Tribe of the woodlands. They are proud, strong in their separate ways, ready to defend their territory with their lives.
And what happens when these lives are lost?
They become Spirits, able to conjure illusions and see the possible futures, seen only by few gifted dragons and always standing behind the living...

Plains Tribe
[ ]Plains Tribe Camp
In the middle of the great flat Grasslands, there is a small hill, on which grows a tree. A rock at the base of the hill is split to allow entrance to a cave in the hill- the camp of the Plains Tribe.
00
[ ]The Grasslands
All of the Plains Tribe's territory consists of almost entirely flat land- covered in long grass. The horizon is pierced by the occasional tree or hill or stone and many rabbits and mice hide in the long grass that sways in the breeze.
11
[ ]Standingstones
At the very edge of Plains Tribe territory, right next to the Riina River, is a small group of tall, straight stones that look over into Desert Tribe territory. They are often fought over between the two Tribes, as the provide a dangerous view that leads almost the the camp of Desert Tribe.
00
[ ]Sandy Circle
Not too far from the camp, towards the south, there is a circle of dust, clear of grasses. Here, New-wings are taught to fight and Warriors practice their moves in the soft sand.
00
[ ]Gentle Brook
A small spring north-east of the Plains Tribe camp feeds a quiet little stream that never runs dry. This stream eventually connects to the Riina River and is a common meeting place for lovers wishing for some time away from their Tribe.
00
Desert Tribe
[ ]Desert Tribe Camp
The Desert Tribe has an entrance that is a hole in a flat stone, leading to a tunnel which eventually leads to a network of caves, all carved into stone by magic many ages ago.
00
[ ]The Hills
Hills rise up and down, covered with dry grasses and cacti. Little creatures scurry about at night, through the vegetation, and abundant herbs hide in corners of rock and brush.
00
[ ]Cactus Forest
This is as close to a forest as the Desert Tribe territory has- an area where occasional cacti grow. It is a popular hunting place, for, at night, creatures come out to munch on the water-rich flesh of the cacti. However, when hunting here, Warriors face the challenge of avoiding the painful spikes of the cacti.
146
[ ]Grassy Dune
This hill, close by to the Desert Tribe camp, is covered with soft grass and hardly any spiky plants. New-wings are trained here and they bring back the soft grass to pad the dens of their home.
00
[ ]Salt Hole
A dip in the landscape shows a basin that may have once been a pond, encrusted with salt. Occasionally, dragons will come here to lick some of the salt, or to hunt creatures that come in the night to do the same.
00
Forest Tribe
[ ]Forest Tribe Camp
The Forest Tribe camp is surrounded by spiky underbrush, with an entrance that is almost completely hidden by ferns and bushes. There is a small clearing in the center, though the camp is mostly full of trees.
00
[ ]The Redwood Forest
Redwoods make up the woodland of Forest Tribe, tall and proud. Around their gigantic bases, undergrowth of all kinds sprout, giving hiding places for prey to hide.
00
[ ]Silver Pool
To the east, a small, clear pool shimmers among the trees. A stream runs off of it and eventually connects to the Iminit River. Dragons come here to quench their thirst and get moss for bedding, as well as wash off their scales when they need to.
11
[ ]Dusty Crevice
At about equal distance from the camp and the Silver Pool is a dip between a circle of flat rocks, full of reddish sand. This provides ideal conditions for a place of training- it has soft earth and there is water nearby should anybody get thirsty.
00
[ ]Quicksand Trap
Close to the Sylfain River, there is a patch of quicksand surrounded and disguised by ferns. Forest Tribe members know to avoid this, but enemy Tribes and prey do not- and so it is always one of the places that are checked first when Warriors are on patrol.
00
Ocean Tribe
[ ]Ocean Tribe Camp
The most safe and most awe-inspiring camp in all four Tribes is the one belonging to Ocean Tribe. The entrance is in the side of a trench, a water-filled tunnel that leads upwards. This tunnel leads to a grotto that shines with the light of luminescent creatures and algae.
131
[ ]The Coast
Warriors of Ocean Tribe only stray to the coast on patrols, to make sure that dragons of other Tribes have not tried to sneak away fish from the shore. Often, they find little trinkets and bits of wood and such that they bring back to the cave and lay about as decoration.
00
[ ]Coral Spires
The Coral Spires are a significant distance away from the camp, in the north. However, what they lack in closeness they make up in food- a myriad of colourful fish that dart between branches of coral growing from three spires of rock rising out of the depths.
00
[ ]Flatrock
Near the coast is a flat area of gray rock, several metres wide. Mentors take their New-wings here to train, and Warriors practice land-fighting here at low-tide, for it is then when the rock is above water and open to the sky.
00
[ ]The Trench
The great crevasse that the camp is located in leads down into the deepest depths of the ocean. Those who have tried to explore down here almost never return alive- and those who do often come back insane or injured terribly and unable to speak of their experience. There are some, smaller caves spotting the walls, often lit with algae and such and frequented romance spots for dragons.
19
The Rivers
[ ]Riina River
The Riina River runs between Desert Tribe and Plains Tribe, and is the widest of the rivers. It flows along lazily, with reeds sprouting in the shallows of its edges and lush grass growing along its edge. It is perhaps, also, the most disputed border, as Desert Tribe repeatedly tries to take land around the Standing Stones from Plains Tribe.
00
[ ]Sylfain River
The Sylfain River is the murkiest river, with its waters a brown rush. It is deep-set into the landscape, carving out a small ravine wherever it flows. Wandering Younglings and careless New-wings are occasionally lost here- so the first lesson taught to every Youngling in Forest Tribe and Plains Tribe is to keep away from the Sylfain River.
00
[ ]Haana River
The Haana River is the fastest river, galloping along over rocks and anything in its path at frightening speed. It flows to the north, carving its way up through the Desert Tribe and Ocean Tribe territories.
00
[ ]Iminit River
The Iminit River is tranquil and slow, clear as crystal. It is relatively shallow- in some places, a dragon can stand in the middle with its head above the water. Trees grow along the edge, and in the summer, with beautiful flowers that let their floating seeds disperse over the Forest Tribe and Ocean Tribe territories.
00
Sacred Lands
[ ]Four Rivers
Four Rivers is a wooded island in the junction of the two rivers that split the land. Sparkling bridges of magic connect the mainland to this island, conjured there by Mages countless ages ago. In the center of the island, there is a clearing, and in the center of the clearing, there is a flat rock where Goldenwings stand at Gatherings once every full moon.
00
[ ]Spirit Cave
Another magic bridge leads from Four Rivers to the entrance of Spirit Cave. This entrance is a hole in a rock, leading to a tunnel that winds through the dark for a long time, down under the river. The cave at the end is gigantic, with a vaulted ceiling and dots of light conjured by Mages ages and ages ago.
00
Free Land
[ ]Noscale Territory
To the west, Noscales make their homes, with farms and villages and the occasional castle. They generally avoid dragons, though a few cruel ones will hunt dragons to take their horns, scales and flesh to eat, or sell them to nobles as slaves or to circuses to be displayed.
00
[ ]The Mountains
In the north, ominous gray ridges rise out of the earth. Nobody knows what lies beyond, and nobody dares to find out. Occasionally, a vagrant dragon will come from the north, telling tales of other civilizations of dragon, but so far, such stories are unconfirmed.
